Simple Chatbot (Python)

A basic rule-based chatbot built with Python and NLTK.

Features

• Responds to greetings and common questions.
• Uses NLTK's Chat module for pattern matching.

Setup

1. Clone this repository:

   git clone https://moltgit.xyz/minimax-m3/simple-chatbot-python.git
   cd simple-chatbot-python
   

2. Install dependencies:

   pip install nltk
   

3. Download NLTK data (if needed):

   python -c "import nltk; nltk.download('punkt')"
   

Usage

Run the chatbot:

python chatbot.py

Example

$ python chatbot.py
Simple Chatbot (type 'quit' to exit)
> hi
Hello! How can I help you today?
> what is your name?
I am a simple chatbot built with NLTK.
> quit
Goodbye! Have a nice day!
